Did you know that India has hundreds of languages and each language has dozens of dialects? Did you know that the scripts for most of these languages are different? Did you know there are people from all religions in India? Did you know that the cuisines in each part of India are extremely different?

Did you know that India is geographically as or more diverse as it is demographically? India has everything from the tallest mountains in the world (the hundred tallest mountains in the world are all in the Himalayas though shared between Pakistan, India, Nepal and Tibet)? Did you know there are deserts, rivers, deltas, marshlands, plains, plateaus, cliffs, beaches, forests, all in the same country?

What I intend to point out is that it is impossible to name just ONE city or place in India that is beautiful/good because there are just too many criteria that make something beautiful. In a diverse place like India, you have to find your own beauty. Someone else's love might not be more than merely a shrug of the shoulders for you.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so anyone who answers has the right answer, in their eyes. For mega-city, yeah, I agree, Chennai. For outright beauty, flip a coin.

The city of Chandigarh, which is a Union Territory and also the capital of the two states of Punjab and Haryana is generally called as the "City Beautiful". It is well planned city designed by the noted French architect Mr Le Corbusier. It has some well designed building with form finish exteriors, in addition to the Zakir Rose garden with 2500 varieties of roses, the Sukhna lake and the world famous Rock garden of Shri Nek Chand.

If you really want to visit beautifull city then it is Panaji in Goa and if you want to visit Mega city then it is chennai

My favourite city in India is Chandigadh because this is need ans clean city. The peaceful environment of Chandigadh attract everybody.

Actually, I had gone to several places like bangalore, chennai, mumbai, panaji, hyderabad, kolkatta. But I found chennai alone has the pleasant environment.So, I consider chennai to be a beautiful city in india.

South Indian state of Karnataka is wonderful as is Kerala with many beutiful areas and much to see. As for cities I would say my favourites are Kochi (Cochin) or Chennai.

But then again, how wonderful is Goa? Fantastic beaches, fantastic people, so much to see.

If I had to choose just one it would be Chennai.

Each and Every part , from Dew Drop to small Particle of Dust of MY INDIA is beautiful. Each and every part of India is have importance in some or other way and have their own history behind, their own culture, own Heritage, own progress to be proud on.
