A near hill station to bangalore is obviously ooty or nilgiris.u have u driven down from mysore road towards gundalpet u can see roads towards calicut (kerala) and ooty also . If u need a chill and good looking place coorg is another option u can drive down towards mandya ,hunsur and further 100kms is coorg...a nice place again..so it depends on u where u want to visit. last options can be koodai orr munnar in kerala. so happy travelling.
