plutonium bomb 75% more power .

"Nuclear explosive devices can have a wide variety of yields. Some older bombs had yields of about 20 megatons, or 1540 Hiroshima bombs. A megaton is the amount of energy released by 1 million short tons (907,000 metric tons) of TNT. Today most nuclear devices have yields of less than 1 megaton."

Back in the mid or late 1960's the USSR detonated a 100 MEGAton device. It was the largest nuclear weapon ever detonated and there was just the one... they didn't make any more.

The U.S developed a 150 megaton weap.
In the end however they decided it was more tactical to build missiles with mutiple warheads of about 50megas each, they would then separate and hit several cities.... no city can really be called "viable" after a 50meg impact... it be like 10 Katrinas, but with nuclear fallout.

I don't know what is currently the most powerful, but the most powerful ever detonated was the Soviet Union's Tsar Bomba. It was about 50 megatons.
