mahabaleshwar is much better tha matheran.
i live closer to matheran than mahabaleshwar, but i have been to the latter at least 10 times and just once to matheran.

Matheran is much better place.It is quite near to Mumbai..
Going on Mahabaleshwar will take around 8 hrs of journey & you spend more time in travelling to-fro rather than enjoying it.
