Indira Gandhi, daughter of India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, and mother of another, Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi was one of India's most remarkable political leaders after independence. In spite of her famous surname, she was of no relation to Mahatma Gandhi.

I can write at length about her and her contributions but it will take lot of time and space.

In a nutshell I would say that the she is responsible for what is India today - Both for negetive and positive points and dirty politics, etc-.

She was a great woman and even greater Politican.

She has been one of the big reason - of India's good image overseas. Absolutely great lady.
