You can see TajMahal ,one of the wonders of the world,in Agra. If you come to south India you must see the bradheeshwarar Temple in tanjore and Meenakshi Temple in Madurai. There are lots of places in india like Ajanta Ellora caves, Konark temple, Khajurao and if you contact Indian Tourism they will inform you abt them.

Thats like wanting to explore Europe in a week. India is a huge and varied country with all kinds of things to see. U abs. have to plan out what u want to spend time on. Choices are:

1. temples and religious artifacts
2. wildlife and nature
3. recent history and palaces
4. tropical areas
5. big cities and Bollywood

Remember, tourist travel facilities are slow as molasses and unreliable, so its wise to carefully pick out a few regional places and spend time there. Dont overplan the itinerary. Criss-crossing will kill ur vacation time.

If ur a newbie to India, the usual path is to do Delhi- see the red fort, then to Agra for the Taj Mahal. If u have more time and are more adventurous, go into the interior (Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra) and southern states (Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala). U will see all kinds of ancient and preserved temples and a way of life thats really different.

It depends on what kind of trip you want to take. If you want to take a "polished" kind of trip, Kerala is for you since it is a tourist designation. It has so much to make you go oohh and aahhh.
If you are wanting something along the lines of spiritual, you must climb a mountain called Kalavaarahalli Betta (also called as Skanda Giri). I have pictures of Kerala as well as from the mountain that my friend in India emailed me in case you would like to for me to email them to you. This mountain should be considered the 8th wonder of the world.

Me, I want to go to Calcutta and see the city in which Mother Teresa helped those that needed help.

This life is not enough to see India... You need 7 more lives to see India.... There are lots and lots of places to see...

But, as life is short, you have to see India according to your interest:
1. If you are interested in unexploited Nature, Kerala backwaters, Kashmir lake, Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu or Moonar in Kerala are good places.
2. If you are interested in hystoric India, Madurai, Tanjore, Mysore, Hyderabad, Patna, Varanasi - Some of the hystoric capitals in ancient Indian empires
3. If you are interested in temples, Madurai Meenakshi Temple, Rameshwaram temple, Kanchi temple at Kanchipuram, Kasi Vishwanathar temple, Tirupathi and Guruvayoor (allowed only for Hindus) are good locations.
4. If your interests are in knowing the villages of India and the traditional culture of India, visit to any village deep in the state.
5. If your interests are in the development of Indian industries, visit Hyderabad, B`lore, Chennai, Mumbai. Delhi. Culcutta, Gujarath as a whole etc.

1 TamilNadu--is the land of Indian Temples..most cultured people in India...u have some ancient temples like Mahabalipuram, madhurai Meenakshi....KanyaKUmari, the border of India is a pace worth seeing....u can see the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea, the Bay Of Bengal joining here....its amazing to watch 3 different collours joining...

2 Andhra Pradesh--u have many places like Hyderabad(the capital & where I live),... Vishakapatnam which has many industries....& also Araku valley its worth watching....Tirupati& Badrachalam...temple cities...

North India:
i cant list out the places in north caus there are many..

the most common one is the taj mahal...one of the seven wonders & a symbol of love....u've got to watch it....in delhi ; other places like haridwar, are also good...

Kashmir is wonderful...the beautiful costumes people wear attracts people from all over the world..u can directly pick apples from the trees...

Goa in East India is praise-worthy...it has 23 beaches...& it has a very, vary vary old church in which the life history of Jesus is shown in paintings....

Just try KASHMIR............
kashmir is the best place .
I hav recently visited dat & i liked it very much........
Especially Pehelgam & Gulmerg are really nice to see.
U can also do ice skiing..........
One speciality about gulmerg is dat it has WORLD'S HIGHEST ROPEWAY called GANDOLLA.
It's really a fantastic experience to sit in dat & go 13500 feet above to khilanmerg.
After travelling KASHMIR u will not blame me.....
Dat's my promise.
