what does it mean to be sexy?
obviously the average indian girl is told not to be sexy. she is taught she is like an item on the shelf of a shelf that needs to remain untouched so that it can get sold.
sexy is dangerous in most situations in india.
so, the answer is that punjabi's are allowed to be sexy by their culture. that is it. they aren't genetically more sexual creatures than any other indians.
and why does their culture accept sexiness?
many reasons...
-many punjabis have direct experience with living abroad or having family living abroad, especially in england and america, where sexiness is "in."
-sikhs have a freedom of having to conform to narrow hindu or muslim norms.
-sikhs are more worldly because they live are physically in closer contact with the outside world (border state).
-the men don't grope and harass the women as is the norm elsewhere in india, and therefore the women feel more free to be themselves. |
