As one of the other answerers said it is true that our culture values education more than other cultures.However it is also true that we are pretty intelligent as a race.However this is not to say that others are dumb.Everyone is intelligent.It is only that some people use their brains in a better way and that is exactly what we Asians do.By the way I am an Asian.I live in India. |

The real reason is because our parents well disown us if we make a fool out of them. We have to our families reputation to uphold. If we get bad grades our parents will beat our butts. |

hehe...i agree,too much generalisation-not ALL asians are smart! it just so haapens that most of them value studies. specially if they are brought up in an asian country. oh and cant forget the family influence. parents sometimes force kids to do well,so you know its a bit to do with pressure as well! but then hey,everyone can be smart if they try! just wanted to share this- in japan kids are at school for 16 hours and then they have after school tutions! |
