it is mean sea level. that is height from the mean sea level that decides the temperature. so it does t mean you are cool near sea, from normal temperature from the ground if u reach about 30000 feet u loose tep slowly and freezing .low to nill oxygen is other story.

bcos..it doesnt have the sea around !!

As one of our friend has mentioned city is surrounded by lots of trees and when we have to construct a house we will take the tree inside and construct that is surprising. Suppose if we have coconut tree and if we have to extend means we will make provision and make a house which looks beautiful and we don't have to cut tree. So that is how the city is cooler than other cities

I find that a very good question... although it is said to be, by one of my sources, about 3,000 above sea level, I know of another area only 300 feet lower which is quite hot , and it is not that far from Bangalore, either. .. It must be the trees and the surrounding areas that keep it cool and breezy. It is lovely, is it not?

because it is located above mean sea level by about 1000 ft. or so.

its a hill area but you dont find any big hills,
all are small and big rounded,

you can find some hills like in Srinagar, kengeri, mysore road, hebbal, hosur road,
