i see you as a poet. A poet can do a song with imaginations in order to taste of the lines. All countrymen are leaving for higher education or for getting employment etc., similarly, some indians are also living in foreign countries for their education and also for employment. As per your argument, when all indians leave who will live in india ?
it is fact that many are leaving because of enemployment problem and also to earn more. They earn money in foreign country and sending it to india. They will never forget their nation. how can they forget their nation. some families settled in foreign countries because of this reason only.
many many persons who studied in foreign countries are serving in india and doing maximum in developing the nation. it is true. |

If you thought that Global Indian Takeover was just a hollow cliche leaning on a few iconic successes like Pepsi's Indra Nooyi, Citibank's Vikram Pandit and steel world's Lakshmi Mittal, there is a slew of statistics now to give it solid ballast.
The extent to which desis have made an impact in the US was reeled off in the Rajya Sabha — as many as 12% scientists and 38% doctors in the US are Indians, and in NASA, 36% or almost 4 out of 10 scientists are Indians.
If that's not proof enough of Indian scientific and corporate prowess, digest this: 34% employees at Microsoft, 28% at IBM, 17% at Intel and 13% at Xerox are Indians.
And the House of Elders also heard some startling facts about a country that's still stuck with a Third World tag — 20% of gold in the world is used by Indians and nine out of 10 diamonds used in the world are made in India.
The figures of Indian successes were given to the Rajya Sabha on Monday by D Purandeshwari, minister of state for HRD, in defence of the country's higher education system and the state of research.
He said there was no slackness in research and the number of PhD holders had gone up from 17,898 two years back to 18,730 last year.
If Indians do not move to foreign countries for work this world will gear back to 10.000 BC.
Obviously, it's great if you happen to be Indian-American, although Americans from other ethnic groups may find it a cause for resentment. The question to be asked is: is it fair? At the risk of being accused of bias - being an Indian myself - I would say yes. After all, there aren't a large number of Indian-Americans at NASA, IBM and Microsoft because they get any preferential treatment. They compete for the jobs just like other Americans. Those companies choose to recruit them for their capabilities; because they believe the Indians would provide better returns on their investment. Indian employees don't mind putting in long hours. Weekend activities rarely take precedence over work. The compnies are in business, not charity. And given the fact that this trend has become apparent for almost two decades now, it is obviously working for them.
Looking at it another way, Americans belonging to other ethnic groups have the same education opportunities as Indian-Americans. The vast majority of Indian-American kids go to public schools; only a handful attend elite private ones. They receive the same quality of education as everyone else. So why is it that these kids tend to get higher grades? Why have Indian-American kids virtually dominated school Spelling Bees over the past decade? Why is it that the school dropout rate for Indian-American kids is negligible?
And what makes you think india is not improving, Here is India's growth projections
1999 -- 2.7%
2000 -- 3.4%
2001 -- 3.6%
2002 -- 4.2%
2003 -- 4.5%
2004 -- 5.9%
2005 -- 6.9%
2006 -- 8.0%
2007 -- 9.4%
2008 -- 11%
2009 -- 12.8%
This makes India among fastest growing GDP's in the world. And based on these stats the study shows that India's GDP will exceed that of Italy in 2020, France in 2020, Germany in 2025 and Japan in 2035 -- Goldman Sachs .
So next time before you post a question like this, please do a bit of research on your own or you are just like any other dumb westner who lives in a box and thinks world is limited to your television set. Ha!
2010 -- 15% |

i think that your statement is very incorrect. you cannot make assumptions about all indians forgetting india. trust me, i live in the US and my parents are always sending money to organizations (that they personally know of.....not frauds and stuff) that help with causes such as adoptions, eliminating female infanticide, eye surgeries, etc.
if you don't mind my asking, why are there a lot of indians who live in india and don't work on improving their nation? |

Honey, most of the Indians leave India for money.I see no harm in that. Most of the Americans,British etc. also live in a foreign land for some or other reason. Why are Indians to be blamed only? It's the effect of globalization dear. |

very good question
Most the indians leave INDIA for greener pastures abroad .AS INDIAN economy opened up in 1991 multinational companies started to come to INDIA and as they labour was cheap and efficient cheap ( espp SOFTWARE guys) they sent them abroad
Now things are changing .Young students want to go USA,UK etc for higher studies only and return back as there are more opportunities here now and almost all MNCs are present.
Anyway indians are obessed with foreign things
