Why do we say india a developing country than saying developed country.?

It is all relative. The terms "developed" and Developing" were coined to get away from the earlier terms of "First World" "Second World" and "Third World" Countries. As has been mentioned, the World Bank and IMF use a financial measure to make the determination which is really misleading. The One Dollar a day determinant means nothing. What is important is how long one must work to provide food, clothing and shelter to his family...It is all relative

Well if it makes you feel better, India isn't listed as a Least Developed Country :-)
Many factors go in to determining whether a country is developed or developing. That includes birth and death rate as well as economical statistics. You can have a look at the links below.

[ If I'm an Indian I'll definitely tell u the real reasons. There are plenty of negative reasons I can say why India doesn't become a Developed Country. But, I'm not an Indian also I'm from a Developing country there are plenty of minus things in my country too. So, better keep my mouth shut ]

Really it is a BIG issue and space and time may not be sufficient to discuss :-

is a 'developing country' in some aspects and
aspiring to become a "DEVELOPED country in very near future to the dismay of our detractors.

For the Indians living in India : Keep faith in your country, eradicate poverty, illiteracy, caste ism, parochialism and other barriers which is still there to some extent.

For others (including NRIs) : Spare us some time, do not be a barrier to India's development and do help India for your common interest/s.

We say that India is developing because India has still not been able to provide all the necessities of life. whereas countries like U.S have been able to do so to a large extent and hence are called developed.

It's a developing country because it does not have a high quality of life for all of it's inhabitants. Some Indians are working in sweatshops while others are managing large corporations and the opportunity for that that sweat shop worker to one day be able to manage a large corporation is almost non-existent.

india is still in a developing stage when compared to other developed countries.if india develope in the field of cleanliness, constructions,patriotism,, and other areas india would come under developed countries list soon.

We often say India is Over- Polluted India is Over- Crowded India is Over- Populated but we say that India is Less- Funfull

Now place to Place we can see builders and government people building highways underground ways......... why?
because to make india Successfull and because we get space and India becomes less crowded, less polluted.......
But the population will increase and you can see more building being build......
you can see gov. people breaking small houses{jhopdis}
which is called road biding.... this is for what?
its for vehicles get more space to go move and people who go walking get space to walk and go....
And we can also see people building zoos, circuses computer games zones, video games zones, chatting games zones.......
Why are people making hostels, hotels, resteraunts?
For us , For visitors means Aliens{Foriegners}
In our country we say aliens as foriegners and in their means others countries they say that we are aliens means foriegners............
