Why do you think India is a great Country!!!?

See first of I have some objection over the word great Country!!!. We are suddenly not. But we have enough capability to become one among the all great. Okk you ask for some practical example.

1. According to our geographical position , if you see all the nation around us, with respect to them we are much more stable. Stable in the sense of, economy , freedom of common people , human wrights all essence.

2. Real diversity. While travel many places of India I find people having complete different culture tied with some invisible bond.

3. Calm and compose nature. Relatively we Indian much more clam and compose. We people are really less aggressive.

well, i like the fact that there was a time when we were ruled by British for as long as 200 YEARS but still we loved our land so much that we did not give in to them but fought and fought and fought so much so that we finally drove them out of our country...Even just thinking about that fact gives me an inner strength...

secondly, i have been abroad for a couple of years now..so i know that our country might not be as clean or as technically rich as many of the other countries but i can say that our country is very beautiful naturally (by this i mean the rivers, sea, lakes and the evergreen trees and "aam ka ped" and all). i miss them all!!!

cos its the only country where u will find so many ppl with different backgrounds/cultures/ethnic groups/etc...living together.
if u go to any other country u wont find so many languages/religions/ppl from diff cultures etc.
i am an indian living in Ireland at present.here u only find Irish ppl.all christians.there is no culture here except for drinking.our country is so good.

even tough there are many problems in india i still think there's more love, more color and you can get a life in india b/c in US all you do is work, pay bills so i like india because there is more fun in life and fun in all the festivals we celebrate

By all means, geography, cultural heritage. un-surpassable spiritual knowledge, comprehensive documented books of great significance (Vedas); most ancient and advanced civilisation, languages, ethnic diversity, democracy, tolerance even towards plants and animals, if you have to look at the brighter side the list is endless. How ever there are lots of avenues that need improvement also

Unity in diversity... I know it's a oft repeated reply but then consider:

geographically every climatic condition, topography is in India. You will find snow, high altitude, seas, inland water bodies, mountains, plains, every crop, plants, almost every animal in India.

Socially you will find several castes and creeds, people of various origins, various religions, various beliefs in India.

Historically India has been through various eons, eras, periods, rulers et al. Rich traditions, I say and different traditions co-exist.

Culinarily you can taste various dishes, spices. The way the ingredients are used is different in every part of the country.

All these factors criss cross each other, interact each other and the resultant mixture is really unique. That's why I truly believe that India is great country.

But seriously it's great that you one of the countries that can competitively compete with other nations in 1st class cricket. Pity you not as good as South Africa yet but you will get there ;-)
