Maybe because its made of marble so the sun gives it different colours.

I think it's something to do with there being semi-precious stones inlaid into the white marble, making it appear to change colour in different lights.

due to acid rain. as taj mahal is made up of marble therefore acid rain reacts with it and spoils it colour

this happens because of the NO2 and SO2 released by various mills in agra mix with rain water and forms acid rain.it falls on surface,reacts with it and forms a dull yellow outer coating.its like corrosion..
