Why don't I give money to beggars?

Maybe you don't like the fact that you would be giving your hard earned money away to someone that isn't doing anything to support themselves, and will more than likely end up spending the money you gave them on something you really didn't want them to spend it on in the first place.

Or, it could just be that you are a cold heartless person who has no compassion on someone that has hit rock bottom and may not have the resources to get back to being a productive member of society.

I always look at it this way.... I don't have to give all my money away to beggars, God only knows that if I did that with every begger, I'd be broke, but I should remember that I myself could one day end up like that, and I would want the next person to show compassion to me..... karm is a ***** if you don't play your cards right.

Some appear to be career beggars, others have a beggar's "pimp" demanding a share, and there are so many of them. I saw sitting in a rickshaw at an intersection, with a crowd of 5 around me asking for money. The driver turned to me and said "this is the real India". I have given money to those who have serious medical issues, such as to lepers or those with horrible deformities. But if I gave just one rupee to every beggar, then I'd already be on the way home now.

Well...I think we shouldn't give money to beggars coz God has given everyone two hands to work and to earn. Why they need assistance. we can give money if we want to but why to spoil somebody by giveing them. Let them to work, if no one will give then one day they will work and earn by themselves only.

They are spoilin nature and God's creation and half of the money they use to give to those people who appoint them and who's under they work... anything can help...this is 21st century

By giving money to beggars you achieve nothing except you create more beggars as well as waste your money.
If you have more money pay some money to orphanages or old age homes who are really in need of money.

i think you should give money to the old age or handicapped beggars, but you should not give money to the childrens because they can use that money in some bad things like drinking. Instead, you can give or buy some eatable to them.

because 9 out of 10 beg for a living cause they know they can make a better wage doing that than earning minimum wage. trust me on this one, i caught them time and time again. If they are not begging for profit, they are begging for booze and drugs. if you want to donate, give to a charity that will ensure the money you give goes to where its needed
