because our infratstructure sucks ***

evry year thousands die because of lack of access to neccessary medicines

Who said India is poor country? do you have any proof for that, Who are the people(the considers) delivers as poor country. They are look only on money not on the knowledge, Indians are more intelligent than all other country people. The bad impression created by politicians of India to get funds from all over world, one of these is POOR COUNTRY.

India was never a poor country.India is richest in every sense.
We have 12% of gold of the world.
We have all natural resources,metal,minerals,crops,productio... are 4 Th in space research now.
We are an atomic power.
We are a biggest market and purchasing power in world.
Many scientists,big business houses are having top positions in the world.
Present power of UK pound is standing on the that gold which was looted by Britishers.

Because the GDP per person is still low. There is a very small minority of very rich people but the vast majority live in abject poverty.

Cause of low per capita income, which is cause of overpopulation, also illegal immigrants from bangladesh, yeah america is not the only country where ppl want to go lol.

We can say so many reasons like population,unemployment, low per capita income, etc. Our economy is mainly based on Agriculture. More than 70 % of population are mainly depends on agriculture. We have achieved self sufficiency in agri based products. It is not enough for development. To strengthern our economy we have acheive growth in all segments like agriculture, industry, information technology etc.
