Why is it that the people of India are still seperated into Caste? Why do people treat the poor so horrible?

bcuz in antient times, indians were illitrate and brainwashed!the brahmin community mistreated all the people they called the"lower caste".

It's not everyone who treats the poor horribly, just the oppressive, self-righteous kinds. But, you're right, it is horrible, and truly outdated, and our government is continuously working on changing that.
But, if you think about it all civilizations and countries have a caste system. It's just called a class system. England & France had it during the times of feudalism...kings & queens, scholars, knights, paupers, slaves. It's just defined by jobs.

it's sad whats happenin here in india right now.... it's very upsettin and frustratin when people spread communalism to achieve their own agendas... it being the 21st century it's pathetic to see that the hindu-muslim rift still exists in certain areas

Divisions are everywhere...in the US...when will you have an African American becoming a President? Or when will you have a woman president? Or even better ..a woman president who is african american?

Division of society is in the minds of people...not limited to any country alone....

The poor being treated badly is not exclusive to India, it happens everywhere!

You confused an adjective with an adverb. You should have asked, "Why do people treat the poor so horribly." At least you spell checked before you submitted, I guess.

Common Sense
It remains ingrained in the Indian psyche and culture...
