Why is traffic so bad at Bangalore?

its simply because they don't obey the traffic rules. they drive in the opposite lane just to overtake the vehicle in front, even though there are lots of cars coming from the opposite direction. when this happens, they got stuck. so traffic jam occurs.

for ex: bwssb ,police,bmp.etc
2]there are no lanes except- m g road ,brigade road,
our govt.is too poor to draw white lanes on roads.
3]frequent transfers of traffic police officers
4] Rash driving, drink & drive,
5] no separate lanes for city buses and four wheelers.
6]stubborn ,corrupt ,old,pot belly politicians ,

Because population is increasing so are people's need & luxries before we use to've 1 vehicle per family now we've 1 vehicle per person...

Bangalore is the same. But the population is exploding all around. No city can withstand such expansion.

Apart of the increase in traffic the roads aren't increasing as it should to take the pressure of the traffic. Less Roads and more traffic makes it very tough and horrible in Bangalore. However now I see the city improving.

Because there is no restriction against space occupied per person on the Road.

A four wheeler with a single occupant would require nearly four times the space on the road to that of a two wheeler .

This leads to massive Traffic!!!!!!!!

All out siders coming for the job in Bnagalore & there are not goin g back , to reduce this population we need to closing the IT companies & call centre in bangalore for free traffic Ha Ha Ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

1) None of the politicians have fore though for the highest revenue yielding Bangalore.
2) Majority of the roads and foots paths are not used properly for what it was constructed( like foot path encroachments, parking on roads etc.)
3) Violation in building plans and no provision for parking place - whether it is commercial or residential.
4) No political will to improve the situation - like broadening the roads, building small and medium flyovers and grade-separaters.
5) Majority of the offices and commercial establishments in a radious of 3-4 kilo meters.
6) Insufficient man-power - for traffic regulation.
7) Poor or bad maintenance of roads and culverts.
8) Lack of implementation of latest technology and proper planning.

And you think it's good in other metropolis, big cities, etc.? Well, in most big cities, it's not!

It's obviously coz of the growth in population !! And one more thing is that one house has more than 1 car....The main problem is that some ppl here don't hav driving sense...Do u agree with me?? They jus don't care about others..And above all our roads are horrible :)
Lets hope for the best !!

No one sees where they are going... nor see where others are going
there is a tide of traffic in every street and tidy traffic in no street,
every street is a one way street and every one way street has a vehicle coming the other way
our coppers and are old and Old is gold,
the streets glitter with litter and all that glitters is not gold,
for every 1000 bangaloreans 20 cars, 120 two wheelers and 240, 3 wheelers are sold.. that leaves about 622 pedestrains and By God all these are in bus stops holed..
The busses and autorickshaws are very tricky cause they manage to miame pedestrians for life and still keep driving on the streets...
The signals are full of rag pickers who dont pick rags, but sell while they beg, and cops beg while they work,,
There are two wheeler cops and 4 wheeler cops and they are at all stops.... their job is to stop traffic in the middle of the street and pick out poor two wheelers from the sea of traffic and charge them with helmet less driving, Licenseless driving etc
Pedestrians on the other hand pay fines for wearingt helmets and nopt having two wheelers and bullock carts have to procure licenses
bullocks are charged with senseless driving and drunken drivers at 2 o clock in the morning are wished well by cops after a night out at Fuga and athena... poor tired disco visitors...
