WELL if this is the case, and you want to revert to your so called Indian old names, then why are so many Indians willing to accept employment off the British, ie; call centres. majority of banks etc. use Indians, and why? when i go to my doctor/ hospital, am i being treated by an Indian doctor?. i think you should be proud to take the British version name, Britain has done a lot for the indian, and visa versa. we got loads of indian take aways/ restaurants here in the uk. how many british restaurants do you see in india?. you know ? i thought india and uk where allies/friends |

India has been changing a lot of its cities names. I think it is because the names were given by the British when they ruled India and now they are changing them back to the old Indian names eg Madras is now Chennai etc |

Mumbai was called Bombay by the British...out of the sheer ease of pronounciation.
Mumbai doesnt really mean much except that its the name of a goddess called Mumba |

Whatever the reason, why do we have to call anything but Bombay?
After all, the French talk about Londres instead of London, and we talk about Vienna instead of Wien.
I suppose its politically correct, because we musn't hurt the feeling of people in the 3rd world.
Come to think of it, the name India sounds suspicious.
