Why the earth is moving continuously and what's the advantage?

The earth has two types of movement:
1. Rotation about its own axis
2. Revolution around the sun

The rotation causes day and night as one part of the earth faces the sun and the other one faces away. Gradually the one facing away rotates towards the sun and that part of the earth has day and vice versa.

Revolution of the Earth around the sun causes the seasons. The earth doesn't revolve around the sun in a perfect circle. It has an elliptical orbit. The distance between the earth and the sun varies on this orbital path. When the earth is far from the sun it is winter and when it is nearer its summer. (Australia is opposite due to inclination of the Earth's axis)

Those were the advantages. What causes it... ? Gravitation. The Earth is in a free-fall around the sun. Spooky ain't it ?

For the same reason that stagnant water is not as good as flowing water! The only thing constant in the universe is change! Everything in the Universe is in flux, including every cell in our body. Each one of us is recycled material! The skin replaces itself within a week, while, the human skeleton replaces itself completely, once every 3.5 years!

The day the earth stops moving will also be the end of this world. So best to let it keep moving. Advantage is we get to be alive.

actually if I explain it in a simple way,earth is searching sun to land on it.but earth can't find the sun so it moves continuously to find the sun.It's so useful because we can eperience different seasons...

Earth cannot but move to be there. It's the movement that brings seasonal changes and day & night to earth.

REASON - All other planets are moving so do the earth.

ADVANTAGES - If the earth didn't move we have to travel around the world to sleep. May be we have to go to India to work (day) and back to US for sleep (night). We need to go to Singapore for rain, US to Ice/Snow, India for rain, Africa for flowers, fruits and fresh air (Seasons). Aircraft will never invented if the earth isn't moving, because there's no gravity, we can float, fly. Drinking a glass of water is better than eating a bubble of water.
