Would this be a good itinerary for Northern India...where else would you suggest enroute? |
Im volunteering in Kanda in the Himalayas. So i thought I would fly to Delhi, have 3 nights there, travel to Kanda and stay for 9 weeks or so. Then I want to go to Varanasi, Arga, Jaipur, Jodphur, Jailsamer then back to Delhi. Would this be ok for 5 weeks backpacking. i'll get mostly night trains i guess. Where else would be nice to go to along this route? |

If this is your first time in Northern India, then visit Amritsar (Punjab province) in addition to Agra and Jaipur. It is far less "touristy". You can then see the "Golden Temple". From there take a taxi to Pakistani border on sunday for the 3PM "open border" crossing. |

omg, you should definetly visit Old Monali, its an hour or so from Shimla (North India). I havet been there as of yet but my boyfriend keeps praising this place. He says you can party all day and night in Monali and you can do any illegal drug. It's cheaper to stay at and theres alot of diversity too, people from all over the world visit Old Monali. The temp is also cool unlike the south. It is a real popular place my boyfriend and I are planning to go next year. try it if u can ,,u wont regret it ! |
