i am a depressed girl

Would u go to india if a family member passes away?

sometime towards the end of june, my mom's brother-in-law passed away..should she go to india in december..after her sister-in-law and younger brother died, she made plans to go to india right away and asked me to miss school..when my grandmother died, she went to india a year and a half later..my last trip to india was in december 2003..when i met my cousin from india in new york, he asked me why i dont come to india since i have a month and a half off for Christmas..as i think about it, all of my friends are saying i should go. for a change..its always good to see family...all i do nowadays is go to my dad's and get stuck bored at home when all of my friends are either on vacation or having their family visiting them..or i'm stuck going to a senior center.,,not only is my cousin after me to come visit india, my mom's sister keep asking us when we are coming,,,i'm sure my cousin will continue to do the same..i never replied to his email

Clueless
I've been meaning to go there for vacation.
I would still go if I could afford it!

if they leave me some money , then I think probly I should go to India

that microlending thing is really taking off

its really very very ethical

Not if you can't afford it.... I imagine the airline fare would be expensive. That would be a great thing to tell someone if they ask you about it....Just say, I don't have that kind of cash flow because I am in school and I have to pay for school, books, tuition, etc.......If you have a ton of money and the time off then it would be nice to go and see everyone

I been to india a few times. the first few times i hated it (mid eighties). nothing for me to do, india was very basic. not tv, no pizzas, no internet, it seemed like long distance family visiting, when all my friends were going cool places like the states for a holiday.

disregard my moaning, every time i went back, it became more and more modern.

The easy thing to do is visit india and get trapped with the residing reletives.

if i was you, i would go with a friend and travel india, of course out of respect - visit your reletives, but keep it to a few days. indias a massive country, with loads to see and do - regardless of budget, you can have a good time.

plan an itinary, and stick to it! get your cousin that lives there, to do a road trip with you, it always helps having someone that speaks the lingo fluently.

trust me - you would love it!

India is fun, with lots of good food, and relatives who give you money, and places to shop. i think you should go and have a nice time. if you go on your winter break, there are usually fairs in India.

I wouldn't want to have to go back all the time. But, it sounds like you are obligated to go. It's up to you if you want to upset your family.

in india ( i'm an indian )
there is a custom that if someone passes away his/her ashes are to be flown in to the river ganga in haridwar so indians all over the world come here to do this ritual and pay respect to their beloved passed away person
