You would be better to think about staying in a budget hotel such as the Jury's Inn group. They charge by the room - a quick check for 1 feb reveals â‚¬135 (euro) per night, for 3 people:

Both Parnell St and Customs House Quays are within walking distance of the city centre - taxis are expensive (though not over a short distance). The problem with trains and clubbing is that the last trains leave Dublin around midnight. There are night buses - they are cheap:

but you want to check that your accommodation is near the stop, rather than wandering around the suburbs!

One option is the Ibis Dublin West for â‚¬95 for 3 (breakfast additional â‚¬9 each):

It is beside the Luas line's Red Cow stop but the last Luas leaves town at 00:30.

There are also hostels in town - Isaacs and Kinlay House, again, both within walking distance.

Type ' self catering holiday accommodation in Dublin' into google for a wide selection.

Trains aren't that bad in Dublin.

But why go there, plenty of other cities in Ireland that are cheaper, just as good...

A cottage in Dublin? Hardly. Certainly not near the nightlife areas.

Taxis and trains are horrendous in Dublin, why not go to Galway, Kilkenny, Waterford, Cork or Limerick instead?

Try this link its pretty good for self catering! Taxis are pricey enuf coz ur often stuck in traffic jams so try get somewhere as central as you can, but the new Luas (Tram) line and buses are pretty reasonable! Enjoy ur hols!!

Very expensive spot Dublin.
Housing expensive to rent.

You can stay out of term in Trinity College Halls.
Need to exercise care at night.
Risk of violence after 10pm in some areas. Don't go out alone. Watch valuables etc.

The bus and trains are not too bad.

The tourist spots are all accessible on the hop-on hop-off bus. Day tickets cost 7 to 8 Euros. Gets you to the door of many attractions. Catch it on Oconnell St.

Bookshops on Dawson St are good.

For cheap food go to the Epicurean Food Hall (very cheap particularly close to closing time).

Temple Bar has loads of Nite Life.

yep its expensive..I live in Northern Ireland and wouldn't go to dublin for any money.
Try north Ireland there is more entertainment there..the odyssy in belfast kellys portrush etc

i live one hour by car from dublin. i can provide accommodation for all 8 of u. u will have the house to yourself. breakfast provided. 200Â£ per night. I will provide full concierge service. and drive u to and from nightclubs.if u require driving like that it would be extra.
