I know there are heaps of counties in ireland
I was just wondering.. is there like a hierarchy as to which ones are nicer than others

I mean, which counties are generally considered to be the most expensive (if you were going to buy property there) and which ones are the cheapest.

and whereabouts would mayo and cork come on that scale of best to worst (if there is one)

thanks

most expensive countie is most likely dublin, the counties in the east of the country are more expensive concerning property and most other things, were the west would be slightly cheaper.
theres not alot of difference between cork and mayo, mayo might be slightly cheaper. but Dublin is defiantly the most expensive.

it also depends on what part of the countie it is, as some area's will be cheaper than others.

well the cities would be the most expensive like dublin and cork and some parts of dublin are very expensive and posh!
people from there are known as D4's!
as in dublin 4!
out the country houses are cheaper!!!

There isn't any such scale, but I get what you mean.

Mayo is good, Cork is also good - people in both places are generally friendly, pleasant, etc. But remember I am saying 'generally' - the first person you run into in either place could be a jerk.

when the sun goes down
there is no such scale but i know what you're saying, a 3 bed house in Dublin would be considerably more expensive than one in say kilkenny as it's the capital and it has a higher population and lots of things are based there.
some places are nicer than others, like the midlands are awful imo but coastal areas like in glengarriff in cork, cliffs of moher etc. are stunning but that wouldn't afftect property prices

is mise lisa
most of the counties in Ireland are really beautiful and things are generally around the same price in all. Dublin is that bit more expensive than the rest though. Cork is very beautiful especially west cork and everything is at the same price as the rest of the country...in some areas houses can be very expensive though.
