Advice on moving from NYC to Dublin please?

I am thinking of moving from NYC to Dublin for my job. Can anyone provide some advice on things such as: areas to live in the city, finding apartments, regulations on how to bring a dog into the country. Also any helpful websites, experiences, or advice would be much appreciated.

why would you want to move from NYC to dublin for. NYC is one of the greatest cities on earth. dublin is not a nice city at all, the people are hostile towards immigrants and the weather in dublin is terrible all year long . i would recommend you to move to a friendly city such as london or paris. trust me, avoid dublin at all costs. good luck in whatever decision you make :)

You will be sorely dissapointed. Dublin is not a good place to live at all at the moment. Ive lived here all my life, can't wait to leave.

ok well first id advise you to come over for mabey a week or two just to check the place out price around ect, just so you are completely sure in yourself that your making the right decision with no regrets!-please do that!
for apartments look up www.ireland-rentals.net, www.myhome.ie/dublin!
to bring your dog it needs to have had vaccinations, blood tests, microchiped..the list goes on! this site should explain everything www.citizensinformation.ie
i cant really advise you on areas to live in because i dont know your financial situation or were your job is! dublins a pretty big place!
but the only advice i can give is to please please please come over for a holiday first with your family or friends or whatever befor you make any big decisions, then look at prices of basics things like food, household basics, and clothes, price the transportation like buses and trains, and anything else you can think of and make sure you are completly happy with the decission that you make, and you can afford to live here, check out things like health insurance and stuff aswell!

Dublin, swapping NYC for Dublin..are you out of your mind..It's expensive, it's cold, it's damp,it's, it's not very friendly..but if you still want to come here. Rent an apartment, through an agent..your dog will have to be quarantined..for months.

But when you get used to it you'll love it, I arrived here from London and hated it..now I'd not go back to London..Dublin is an acquired taste.

Your dog will have to be quarantined for 2 weeks for a start. And to get an apartment in Dublin City is very expensive. Your best bet is to rent in a surrounding area of the city.
