Don't forget Craggenowen near Kilkishen, and Knappough Castle.
Then the cliffs of moher, Ennis, Limerick, Ailwee Caves, The Burren, Doolin Cave, Lahinch and the Sea World there.

Why not visit Bunratty folk park...you can take part in a medieval banquet with great food, music and craic, as we call it. Visit the cliffs of Moher in County Clare. Also make sure and spend a night in a traditional irish pub with music, storytelling and Guinness. Ask locally for details. Generally, people like to help. |

Shannon Airport is located in County Clare, about 17 miles (27km) northwest of Limerick city. County Clare is located on the west coast of Ireland and is a fantastic place to visit with loads of pretty towns & villages, sandy beaches and some superb restaurants that serve fresh local seafood.
There's no shortage of visitor attractions here either. The Cliffs of Moher are a definite must see- they're located close to the village of Liscannor and stand at over 200 metres tall overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
The unique limestone region of the Burren, to the northwest of the county, is also worth checking out. It covers a large area and dispalays lots of unique features, including Ailwee Cave, which is a hugely popular tourist attraction.
Next you could visit Bunratty Castle & Folk Park. The 15th Century castle is located just off the main Shannon Airport to Limerick road. The Folk Park dates back to the 19th Century. And for a unique dining experience, you should check out the music and dance medieval banquets that are held here all year round.
In Limerick city, King John's Castle, a 13th Century Castle overlooking the River Shannon (Ireland's longest river) is worth visiting.
Another thing about County Clare is that it has very strong links to the Irish music industry. Many Irish music and dance festivals are held throughout the county each year in various towns and villages.
And if you have a bit more time on your hands you can continue south and check out the stunning south west region of Cork & Kerry, home of attractions such as the Gap of Dunloe, Killarney, the Ring of Kerry, West Cork, as well as many coastal seaside resorts. |
