Visit Cork, its a must. Small city but plenty to see and do and you are close to the coast too, Kinsale is very pretty. Try staying in B&Bs much cheaper than hotels (I run a B&B) ask for deals, you'll find the price you see isn't the price you pay.

Definitely spend some time in Dublin. Then, as much as possible avoid the midlands, and travel to the coastal areas. The mountains in Donegal, Kerry and Wicklow are amazing. Try for the burren area in Clare and Connemara in Galway. Cork, particularly west Cork, is good for food.

Definitely stop off in Westport, it's the perfect tourists town!! There's beaches, mountains, fields, AND there's shops, festivals etc..

How long have you got?

I would advise picking a region and spending a week there. If you can drive, look into hiring a car to explore the west. Dublin is alright, but you'll see the highlights in 3 days.

Google 'festivals in Ireland', and check those out. The Spraoi festival in Waterford in particular is well worth seeing.

You could also visit www.discoverireland.ie for more ideas.

Hey whats feckin wrong with the midlands?!?!
Anyway I would recommend Connemara in Co. Galway.
Great for fishing, hiking, biking, lovely scenery, the cleanest sea Ive ever seen, brilliant pubs and resteraunts, the whole lot!

Class place altogether!

I live there!!!
Go to the North Coast- things like the Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge and the Giant's Causeway. Donegal's lovely, as is Mayo and Galway and the whole West Coast. Try Dublin too, it's got lots of things to do, and it caters for everyone.
