Kit

Anyone ever been to Killybegs?

If so, why, and what did you think of the place?
Additional Details
***lol! Podge and Rodge you've been everywhere and thus have all the answers =]

***Thanks everyone for being not only informative (great nightlife, finta beach),
and historical (great fishing port 'til the EU screwed it) but practical too (bring yer thermals, and
know the Irish National Foresters are prone to hold their conventions there) but I suppose I'll
just have to go myself to discern if the monicker KillyDREGS is deserved due to chavs or it's
high population of Rastifarians.

***magidge get's "Best Answer" for being coherent enough to answer first aftter the big Irish win.

Thanks Again!

The surrounding area is beautiful...well worth a visit.

Once about 35 years ago, in the past it was a serious fishing port, but dwindled as the EU screwed up the Irish fishing industry. The only thing I remember about the town was th God Awful smell of fish as the processing plants of the time were obviously for the time. The town has changed since then s great place to visit and the surrounding areas are beautiful. I havn't been in a while but wouldn't pass on the idea of a visit, worthwhile.
