Anyone have tips on how to speak in a Scottish or Irish accent?

I'm part both but I was born and am living in the U.S. so I have a Northeastern American accent, about the most boring one there is.
Additional Details
you guys i don't mean all the time, and the person who said go read a freakin book, why did you waste your time answering?

Pronounce your "th"s like "t"s and your "t"s like "d"s and you are making a good start on an Irish accent (from most parts of the country anyway).
You could incorporate a liberal sprinklings of "ayes" into your speech for a Northern Ireland/Scottish edge!

But a Northeastern US accent isn't so bad....

I took some voice (acting) lessons until I could no longer afford them. I made a feeble attempt to be a voice actor... and I will tell you that an Irish accent is WAY more difficult than a Scottish or English accent. Then one must remember that, like here in the US, there are several different accents in Ireland. Take my advice and don't even try.

And, yes, Waking Ned Devine is a good flick to watch.

Please dont Americans trying to do an american accent make me cringe, its so bad. If your hell bent on doing it, make sure you listen to an irsh actor speaking, not an american actor doing(attempting to an not even coming close) an irish accent. The Snapper/Van/Commitments, Waking ned, The most fertile man in Ireland, these are some irish films made in ireland and staring irish actors, or you could listen to some of our radio stations on the net, FM104, Spin 103.8, 98FM, Q102, Today FM, 2FM, these would give you a good idea on the accent

Here's a tip: Don't do it. You sound like a complete idiot.

I've said it before, because apparently there are a LOT of people just DYING to sound like complete idiots. I mean, seriously? Do you WANT people to laugh at you behind your back? Chances are, they are already doing it if you've got so little to do in your life than "acquire" an accent you don't actually have. If you want to be less boring, or at least sound less boring, go read a freakin book.
