Anything to do at Ireland-West Knock Airport?

Is there anything to do in or around Ireland-West Knock Airport with 4 hours to kill? Anywhere to walk? Go? Always interesting to just watch the planes but can you see them from the terminal or nearby?

Yes you can watch the planes from the Skyline Restaurant & Bar which overlooks the runways but you will see from the schedule at the first link below that there may not be much activity. You could take a trip to the town of Charlestown which is about three or four miles away. A shuttle-bus service runs between Knock Airport and Charlestown about five times a day, you can check the timetable to see if the times would suit your own schedule at the second site below.
Charlestown at the third site.

Knock airport is very small with only one terminal there are about a dozen or so scheduled flights a day.

There is quite a nice view of the surrounding countryside if it is clear and not raining as the airport is situated quite high up. Really though it is in the middle of nowhere and the only walking I am aware of is along the roads.

The village of Knock with the shrine is about twelve and a half miles from the airport. There are buses, taxis and car hire but you would need to be sure you could get back in time for your ongoing flight.

I recon your best bet would be to take a good book.

I should be doing something else

Go to the shrine. Other than that theres nothing, the place is in the middle of nowhere.

I believe there is a holy shrine nearby.

Bring a book or get a newspaper.

Is máith liom cáca millís!
No, there's only a cafe upstairs and a bar downstairs, so eat, drink and be merry!!

Although there's not much to do, I love Knock airport because it is small and easy to get through (no crowds etc!)

You might want to take a nap.No, seriously.LOL

RAW
1. Read a book
2. Get drunk in airport bar
3. Watch ecstatic religious people going to/coming from shrine
4. Use bathroom
5. Wait for flight out
