Ireland is the legal name of what is the Republic of Ireland. The name Ireland is used in most official documents both internally and internationally. There are exceptions for example FIFA. Republic of Ireland is the legal description of the country. When talking about both colloquially they are referred to as the North and the Republic.
Northern Ireland is a constituent nation in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. |

Ireland is split into two different countries; The republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland occupies one fifth of the island with the republic occupying the other four fifths |

N. Ireland is a temporary political anomoly which is soon to be abolished. This is in line with the failure of the yUK as an entity. Scotland will be a republic in our lifetime and this will be the final 'nail in the coffin' of the uk. The uk was un-democratically created by english politicians to serve their own greed and to benefit only england. |

Ireland is an island comprised of 32 units called counties. Six of these currently belong to the United Kingdom and are called Northern Ireland, (Antrim, Armagh, Down, Derry, Fermanagh and Tyrone). At the moment, as I have said, Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom and so could be considered to be a different country.
However, most reasonable people hope that some day the whole island of Ireland will become one country again without the need to resort to violence to achieve this. |
