I lived in Ireland for 13 years and I found the Irish in general to be a very friendly bunch(but then again i have no choice but to feel that way towards them as my husband and 3 children are all Irish. There are so many wonderful and amazing things to do and see in Ireland.(I especially love the Munster counties). For an Australian the weather and the climate never seemed to bother me at all.

Very. Just don't discuss the English, ask them about Leprechauns, or imply they're all drunks unless you want a lesson in fighting. Also don't use the word "Mick."

It's a great place to visit.

I've been living in Ireland for 5 years now, and before that, I visited every summer. I find, as with moth places, Irish people vary. You get the good and the bad. As a whole though, I would have to say that the Irish are very open and friendly people, and my, don't they know how to have fun! Haha. Both my parents are Irish, and despite being born and raised (for the most part) in the US, I think of myself as basically being Irish now.
As for the rest about Ireland. It has some of the most beautiful sceanary in the world, I believe, especially along the marginal west coast of the county. The climate does leave a little to be desired (refering to the slightly exagerated rainfall), but at the same time, it's not too bad. We don't experience extremes of heat or cold (generally), so it's a fairly moderate climate. As the Irish culture and history, I find it very interesting, there are also countless antiquites that you can visit, dating back as far as the neolithic period (Newgrange).
I know I sound like an ad promoting tourism to Ireland, but I love the country, and most visitors do too. So in my firm belief what I said here is true, it's just up to you to validate it.

Today is the day!

The Irish are very very friendly, I am 3rd generation in the states and I have been there once a very long time ago as a child and would love to go back. I still have tons of family there and they are all very very friendly.

The climate is rather cool and it does rain I have been told that the climate of Ireland is alot like Washington state I have never been there though but that is what I have been told. When you get to go you will love it!!

Garnet
yeah Irish people are some of the friendliest in the world. it rains most days but that shouldnt stop you have the best time ever. have a good trip!

wwJad
my only experience of Irish people is of them killing so many of us over the last 30 years
perhaps I am therefore biased
but going anywhere near them is not a good idea
