Are jeans acceptable to wear while visiting Ireland and the pubs?

My family and I will be visiting Ireland next week and are wondering if blue jeans are considered acceptable attire while visiting the sites and pubs.

Ya its perfectly acceptable. Most people actually wear jeans when hitting the pubs. In most pubs though runners/trainers whatever you want to call them are a no no.

singkit
yeah it is. Why not?

Jeans are fine in pubs as people have said trainers are sometimes forbidden. No jeans on golf courses though.

Irish Guy 22
Yeah they are perfectly fine
most people wear jeans when they go out here i dont think i have ever worn a pants going out unless it was to a fancy company thing , its always been jeans , the only thing that some places require is shoes and a collar (i.e. a shirt ) but even that is rare

Busybee is back!
yes that's no problem jeans are grand but i would suggest that you bring something more dressy too just in case you decide to go to a nice restaurant , not to say u would not get in wearing jeans. runners aren't always exceptable though , for most places they are, if you can add where abouts you are going etc, we can give you more advice.Enjoy your stay.

OMG
ur accepted

Sure you can wear anything you like here

Rossie
yes blue jeans are perfectly acceptable everywhere in Ireland except at formal events.

Movers&shakers
You as long as you are not going there in "Trackies" its acceptable and perfectly common here.

In ireland you will be surperised when you will enter pub to see how many people are there wearing jeans.

*Make sure you dont wear "runners" with jeans and you will be refused entry.

All the best
Enjoy the envoirnment.

Ben
