nope.theres a lot of ginger people in ireland.the only true way to distinguish an irish from an english person would be the accent or ginger hair,if they have ginger hair, theres some irishness in them somewhere.ps:nice pic

Where does all this about redheads come into it. Sure there are redheads in Ireland, but at least up this end of the country they are only a small minority. I think when I go to Glasgow they seem to have a higher proportion than we do.

Culturally though, we are a fair bit different.

Think of some famous Irish people, do they look the same as those from the UK? (westlife, Colm Farrell, Boyzone, Donal McIntyre, Collen Nolan, U2, The Script, Liam Neeson, etc etc etc etc)

Also, as a matter of fact there are more red heads in scotland than Ireland

presuming you are from the US i will ask you if the people of the US are the same as those from Canada.

Genetically yes. There was a research group that did DNA testing on the populations of Ireland and the UK - they all spring from the same stock.

Edit - The people in the US are basically the same as those in Canada. The loyalists to the British crown left the US and went up to Canada after the American Revolution. So many Canadians started off as Americans. The French that were driven out of Canada by the British went down and settled in Louisiana in (what became) the US.

80 million ppl have irish acencestory so most people look that teeny bit irish...like half of england has irish blood in the last lyk 2 generations so loads of em ARE irish...did ye kno barrack obama's granda's irish...youtube 'there's no1 as irish as barrack obama'....best song eva...

They are a little similar in terms of land region. Both the Irish and the British speak English. Pretty much everyone in the UK continent does. The Irish do have a different accent, and their hair is of different color, and I think they are more paler in comparison to the British. The British do control northern Ireland, but the rest of Ireland mainly belongs to the Irish locals. But other than that, both are way different.
