Well personally I cant stand them (I predict many thumbs down!) Its just my opinion, I never liked their music and personally cant stand Saint Bono, I dont really mind the others. I was just never that into them and a lot of my friends have the same opinion as me, it seems to me that a lot of Irish dont like U2, they seem to be way more popular in The States and other places than here.

In saying all that I do respect their achievements in the music industry.

I don't actively dislike them but I can think other things I would do before I'd listen to one of their albums.

There old stuff is class but their new music is crap in comparison. I have one of their old albums but would never buy one of their new ones. I have a friend in New Zealand do that loves their new stuff but she is not Irish, so it depends on the person I suppose. I think they have been around too long really. Very few bands can last years and still be at the same level they were always at. But like some people might prefer their new stuff but I don't. So I suppose I half like them.

I hate him!!!! He moved to Amsterdam so he wouldn't have to pay taxes. He cares for nobody but himself!!!!

Their best album was The Joshua Tree, and I also liked Achtung Baby.

I'm not wild about the way that Bono does the Humanitarian Intellectual Artist bit, but in fairness, applying his public face to a worthy cause is more than many of the Prima Donnas do - when was the last time Madonna actually let a pound note pass her by? (The whole Malawi adoption thing was a media scoop, made her look caring, but anyway ...) Plus U2 do a great show, and one of these fine days I might actually get to see one. Tickets tend to sell out within minutes of going on sale.

I don't like or dislike them. Bono is a very annoying man, and I hope that monstrosity they're planning on building in Dublin doesn't go ahead. But some of their music is good.
