Yes honda and toyota hybrids.
ECO ola are a company that produces biofuel here.
iesels using bio fuels is not new here , the lord mayor of dublin had a bio diesel volkswagen in the 1980.
There is a freight company here in galway that is producing and using biodiesel in their trucks and selling it to the public soon.
You can also get bio ethanol in my town (E46).

Sher we know a fella who drives a car using vegetable oil. He smells like a chipper.

Toyota announced that sales of the Prius in Ireland reached the 1,000 mark in 2007, with 50% more cars sold between 06-07 than in the 3 years previous to that. The Prius is the most popular hybrid car in Ireland.

A lot of vintage car enthusiasts are experimenting with DIY conversions and biofuels, but there are no official figures on this. You could try forums like http://www.boards.ie and http://www.eircooled.com to find out more, but I don't think they keep any stats.

There's a guy in Waterford who runs free demonstrations on how to make biofuel - he might be worth contacting for more info:

There is a filling station near me that sells bio-fuel, rather cheaper than unleaded (which I use), but the guy serving behind the counter said we'd have to refill at least twice as often, so apart from eco issues, there's be no savings.

I don't know anyone with a hybrid or electric car, but read headlines today online which sounds like these could be coming our way soon.
