Are you rude to tourists because of their accent or nationality, or nicer because of same?

Additional Details
This is good, not one nasty answer yet!

I can relate to being swarmed with tourists myself, but I am always nice unless they are awful themselves.

In Ireland everybody (genarally speaking of course!) is very helpful and polite with tourists. The world-famous Irish welcome... even though most people working in the tourist/hotel/catering industries are foreigners now. I don't remeber the last time I was served by an Irish barman in Dublin!

Chuck M
I work in the hotel/tourism industry and I know that sometimes it is difficult to understand people but one just needs to be patient and who knows, you may just come away with a new friend. Of course there are always those who cannot ever be pleased and go out of their way to be difficult but we are nice to them too...

I am a bus driver in London, and if anyone is polite when they ask a question I will be helpful in return, regardless of nationality. When people are rude though, I will always just say "don't know".

Why would I be rude to a tourist? I'm quite happy to help them on their way, no matter where they're from.

I make a special effort.Treat others as you would hope to be treated yourself.

Nope, not at all. What makes me rude to them is the way they act.

To me it doesnt make a differance.
I treat everyone the same. (Most of the time)

I should be doing something else

No I like to be helpful towards them and I would absolutely hate to think of any visitor leaving this country having had a bad experience.

I'm inclined to agree with Momio. If they are rude or patronising to me, I tend to get a bit shirty back to them. But that seldom happens.

If someones skin is different I find I speak slow and clearly and they think I'm a tourist(can't help it).

I am nice to everyone who visits my country.

AnteK
only american ones
but i would'nt go out of my way
just if they came near me.
because they're so stupid!!!
there were 4 in my town(Athlone), staring at the weir wall
i honestly heard
,,OH MY GOD HONEY QUICK LOOK!! ITS THE GIANTS CAUSEWAY!!!''
i would'nt mind as much if they weren't so blatantly obvious and annoying.
if they could learn to stop being loud and incredibly visible a mile away and learn some facts
then i wouldn't mind them
