nope, no shots needed....probably just a coincidence that your boyfriend was sick.

If you really want to play it safe, just wrap up warm and dont make any extreme dietary changes while youre over here

Jaysus what did you feed him!
No, seriously, you don't need any shots. Food is good, no need to worry about food poisoning, and you can find every sort of restaurant. There are no bugs, not even in the summer. If you come from a hot part of the States bring warm clothes and take into consideration the cold, humid weather could cause you a cold!

nope nothing!!!

No. People do get colds, but that is normal anywhere.

froggequene
You might want to get a flu shot but since they can't accurately predict which variant of the virus will be circulating at any given time it can be a waste of time, other then that, no you don't need any shots.

It is probably coincidence your boyfriend got sick, since you don't specify what he got sick with we'll have to assume it was a flu or cold, he might have been coming down with it before he got on the plane but the air on planes is also recycled, all sorts of germs are floating around & being re-circulated.

DuB
Every Irish person knows that as an American going to Ireland, you need to get a shot against rabies. Just in case! ;-p

Just kidding, maybe your boyfriend is the one who should have gotten a shot before going to America.

In any case, you don't need any shots of any kind when visiting Ireland. Enjoy your trip!
