As irish citizens can my kids go to college in ireland for free?

After spending 12 years in USA we now plan to return and my kids would like to do graduate study in an irish university. They plan to finish undergraduate degrees here in USA.

Post graduate study in Ireland is not free for anyone.

Only undergraduate study is free, except for registration fees"~€1000), which everyone pays.

For postgrad study tuition fees range from €2000-5000+ a year depnding on what you want to do. If your kucky though the unversity will have funding or grants to help pay most or part of the fees.

Tuition is only free for those who have lived and paid taxes in an EU country for at least 3 of the 5 years before starting an undergraduate course. For those under the age of 23 who aren't self supporting, the residence of the parents is what counts.

Postgraduate study is never free here. I'm paying €5500 for mine at the moment. If they are doing research courses there are some good scholarship schemes though which will pay fees and living expenses but the project must be good.

Free education went out the window with having a decent government. Have to have lived in the EU for 3 of the last 5 years, and nothing is free here.

No. If they were born in the US, they have to pay the international fees. Sorry.
