Can I do a summer homestay in Ireland?

I've wanted to spend a summer in Ireland for a while. I will be finishing up my freshman year this May. I've done some research and found something called homestays. I really want to spend a summer in Ireland, and looking ahead this is the only summer I can do it for my highschool career. Is it too late? What can I do to have this dream of mine come true? Thanks in advance.

This is a little like what I was looking for. I didn't find very many helpful answers but... might as well check it out.

Also, any one else answering, I could use the help. I'm in, basically the same situation.

Well a homestay means you'll stay in someone's home and do all the washing, cooking and cleaning in return for bed and board.
We have an opening in Ballydung Manor for you during the summer. Ya see, Caroline Morahan thinks she's going to make it big in Hollywood!!!
(But she''ll be back by September looking for a job around Dublin again.)
