No. You will not get passed airport security in the US. You had best go to a local Irish Counsulate or Embassy and get it updated. They can usually do it in a couple of hours. |

Leaving a country with an expired passport is a LOT easier than trying to ENTER. lol
I would suggest going to the Irish Consulate and have them help you get your passport updated. I'm not sure if takes forever and a half to get your passport, like it does to get an American one, but someone there should be able to help you out.

Yes you can,,Some years ago 7 to be precise my mother died and my Irish passport was expired as was my British and my Canadian,,,,Believe it or not,,, Having contacted the Irish Embassy in Ottawa They told me that if I travelled directly into Ireland I could do so with an expired passport...The British told me the same |
