if ya have family that own buisnesses or anthing they can get you a job easily. the best thing you could do is hand in a cv to a local hotel or something. i got a job in the radisson in athlone when i was 14. they can pay ya whatever they want if your under 18 but they paid me a tenner an hour so that was pretty cool lol.they should pay ya something like that so good luck with that! and if yu have babysat loads before put it down on your cv.it will definitly look good :D |

I was the same as you when i was 14..... you are allowed to work, but not many places will take you, and there are a lot of restrictions too.
I'm 16 now and its much easier!! -but if you search you could find something!!
Good luck!! |

You can get something but you'll be paid about a fiver an hour. Don't do it. |

At 14 you can work pretty much a full week during the school holidays.
Any local companies with jobs available will probably know the rules.
The department's website at entemp.ie can be very useful.
Cheers! |

Sorry to tell you, but you can't work because you are only 14. Out in the country you'd get away with it, but I'd say in Dublin they'd be stricter about that.
I suggest you go babysitting as you don't need to be 16 to do that. My advice :
+Make some advertisements saying you are a teenage girl who is interested in having a job babysitting for the summer with your contact details on them, and put them around where you live.
Or if that's a bit risky...
+If your parents have any friends with younger children tell them to put in a good word for you.
+Give your contact details to some local hotels saying you're interested in babysitting. Hotels provide babysitters for people on their holidays going out, and are always in need of some.
Parents are always looking for a babysitter and if you're polite and available, they'll love you! The money is usually great, especially because all you'll need to do really is tell the kids to go to bed, then you can watch TV and eat food all night! |
