It depends on where you work if you have to Commute, as a lot of People do now, sometimes 30 Miles or more. Then you will be using either a Car or Public Transport. If you can get a Job Locally in the Area that you Live in then that is less of an expense. You could get by on say 200€ each a week if you had not much expenses but that would be Skinflint Wages, So I would say you would need 400€ each a week to cover all Eventualities in order to live Comfortably each Week. If you Buy a House ,the Mortgage can be very Expensive. So try for 400€ to 500€ Euro a Week in Wages if you can or more if the Job is a very good one. Dublin is a Dear Place for buying and Renting Houses and the cost of living is Higher. It is usually cheaper to live down the Country away from Dublin. So we are talking € 30,000 + a Year Each.

it depends...what part of ireland are u coming to? Dublin is way more expensive than the rest of the country, for rent, transport..everything. Maybe 30k would be good to have there so youre not struggling

Edit:..well rent and general cost of living in roscommon will be cheaper than dublin, but if your husband is working in dublin, then he'll be earning dublin wages (wages in dublin are usually better than the rest of ireland ,due to the high cost of living there) so id say ye will be fine:-)

wow you are going to be living in roscommon and your husband is going to be working in Dublin that is an exceptionally long journey to be doing 2wice a day

Its easy to work out. Decide your income take off your outgoings. If this is greater then its enough. Anything more is comfortable. Figures like 30,000 are meaningless.
