Can anyone suggest great places to visit/tour in Ireland?

Polilical conundrum...

Depends on how much time & money you want to spend you can always hook up with tours for any part of the country but the best way to see it is take a month if you can go from point a to point b on your own. Geta map & see the places at your own pace talk to the locals geta real feel for Ireland small towns have more magic than the big cities but they are good for night life.
Don't hitch even Ireland can be dangerous buses are fairly cheep & most towns have cheep accomadation. Good luck

Although they are on the "tourist" trail, no visit to Ireland is complete without taking a trip around "The Ring of Kerry" and also the Dingle Peninsula. At both the scenery is stunning, and on the latter there is a museum dedicated to the people from the Blasket Islands...which is well worth visiting.

yea there are loads of places..theres an event in galway to celebrate the fantastic father ted..at the end of february or march..you could visit the boyne site and get the tour of the the site of one of the most important battles in european history,theres a museum there aswell. you could do fishing etc in county westmeath.you could visit the giants causeway,or marble arch caves, both in northern ireland (HIGHLY RECCOMEND YOU SEARCH FOR THESE TO ESPECIALLY THE GIANTS CAUSEWAY TO SEE HOW STUNNING IT IS!)..im sure there's loads more you could do :)) you shoudl search it through google to. oh and where i live bangor is very nice seaside town, also close to the coutryside and about 15minutes from belfast where theres loads to do, watch ice hockey, rugby, watch the mighty northern ireland footy team, catch a comedy or performance of some sort at the ulster hall,odyssey or waterfront..theres also loads of bars pubs and clubs, tours etc.there's also the beautiful mourne mountains in county down and the fermanagh lakes..really northern ireland is fabulous now that we have peace here and everything is just fabulous..you could even come over for the twelfth and see arguably europes biggest carnaval :)) if your visiting Ireland definately visit Northern Ireland aswell!

glendalough co. wicklow is an incredible place checkit out on the web half hour from dublin one private bus every day hostel and one pub/hotel give it a couple of days as it a naional park with spectaular walks,thats only 1 of many places to see,get lonely planet ireland edition enjoy

Dublin has a lot. Tourist attractions nightlife ect. The most inteyresting tourist place is Kilmainham Gaol. Its a very imortportant place for Irish History.
Im from Dublin so my favourite cities are Galway & Belfast.
Galway is full of music & culture and its not tourist tacy like parts of Dublin. Connemara and the Burren are beautiful country side just outside Galway city.
Belfast is proberly one of the most inter esting cites in Europe and its very safe, even though people may say otherwise, & the people are exstreamly friendly.
Kerry is another place to see

i live in ireland i love glendalaough its in wicklow and i also like the japinese gardens there will be loads of sites to look at on the internet an recomendations.

there are so many places to visit.the ring of Kerry is nice and also Tipperary, kilarney is stunning, dublin is very nice and lively, if you go north we vivted the giants causeway it is amazing,just loads of places to go and knock is just fabulous kilarney

I'd recommend you come visit Northern Ireland. We've got a lot of history up here and a unique culture. Belfast is where the Titanic was built and is a interesting place with all of its historic buildings like City Hall, Queen's University, Botanic Gardens and Harland and Wolff Shipyard. The Giant's Causeway is a must and is a World Heritage Site. Londonderry is a historic city and I'd definetely recommend looking at the old city walls - the finest in Europe. There is also Bangor where I'm from. It is a nice old seaside town with a vibrant night life and its got some really nice scenery too. If your up here, you must go so the Mourne Mountains. These are beautiful!
