ya take a trip to galway on a nice sunny day and if you look out on galway bay you can see the statue of liberty in the distance...you might have to squint a bit though.

No you can't see America from Ireland because of the distance between the two countries -- not to mention the vast ocean in between. Also, the horizon isn't that far off from where you look, so it's also impossible to see the other side of the country.

well, its an 8 hour flight.... which would mean about 3 and a half thousand miles.... so no. Why? Because you can only see 13 miles at sea level because of the tilt of the earth

You could if the Earth were flat. But ask some catholic Irish people; I'm sure they believe in such things.

The only way you could see America from Ireland is if you were a black hole and were able to bend light. A heavy source of gravitation can do that, as Einstein has proven.
