I climbed it a couple of weeks ago! No matter how fit you are, bring a walking stick. On the way down you will be REALLY glad you have it. Lots of water, thick socks, really good shoes, a snack, waterproof clothing (It gets very misty at the top, even if it is sunny.) You also might want a camera for the beautiful view! Also, no matter how hot it is at the bottom, bring a warm cuddly hoodie!! Preferably in a bright colour, just in case anything happens, you'll want to be able to be seen from above.
PS. Be really careful on the very last really steep bit, it gets very slippy, and also on the way down, it helps to walk slightly sideways, like a crab, it helps with balance.

Enjoy the beautiful views over Clew Bay...

Never done it but I've done similar climbs years ago. Once did a 30km charity walk (18 miles) of hilly terrain in 7 hours on a boiling hot June day, nearly finished me off lol.

Try to get out in the next few days and walk a few miles each day to build up your stamina. Definitely break in new boots so you don't get a blister. Take it steady, rest regularly if you need to. Take a small rucksack with water and snacks and rain gear in case it rains.

Best of luck

your feet. bring spare socks and towel to keep your feet dry. helps big time to slow blistering. Orla's point about water is a must. mars/marathon type of quick release energy bars, mmm. stop every now and again to take stock and enjoy the outdoors.

Enjoy
