Croke park is very near the city centre, it's about a 15 minute walk, max. So try anywhere in Dublin 1, Dublin 7, or Dublin 2.
Although there will be good public transport from anywhere in Dublin.
I heard Jurys at Croker have upped their prices from €99 per room, to €450. Can't believe that, considering the Westbury is posh and €420. |

If you don't mind a little travelling check out the Louis Fitzgerald hotel on the Naas Road. Joels restraunt shares the same car park as it and does nice grub.
You will have a five minute walk to the Luas (Local Tram). You can get the Luas into Store St. from there 20-30mins. From Store St. you can walk to Croker which will take about 15-20mins or get a taxi which should cost about €10.00....................... but here's the best bit.
At the moment the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel are doing rooms for €10.00 per night, yes that's right TEN EURO (I know because i drove by the sign twice today).

You would be mad to stay anywhere in the vicinity of Croke Park on concert nights, the hotels and B&B's jack up the prices as much as 400%. Can I suggest that you come and stay in Malahide in north Co.Dublin. It is a seaside village with great pubs and loads of restaurants and bistros. It has a Dart station, which will bring you directly to Connelly station for €2, and is 5 minutes walk from the concert.
Try the Island View Hotel or the Grand Hotel in Malahide. or the White Sand's Hotel in Portmarnock, which also has it's own nightclub called Tamango's. All of these hotels are reasonably priced and do weekend deals. They all have websites, look them up! |

Jury's Inn, Jones Road, is opposite Croke Park. However, I understand that they have more than doubled their price for the Elton John concert. It might be better to look for accommodation away from the concert at a cheaper price. There will be plenty of buses running to the concert from the city centre. |

You might get a good deal at the Regency Hotel (Swords Road) or the Skylon Hotel, both in Drumcondra and within walking distance of Croke Park. I'd say a 15 min walk or else you could just hop on a bus down the road - 3 mins. Neither are too posh or pricey, probably 3 star. There's also a B&B right next to the Skylon called the Antrim Arms, and a good few B&B's in the surrounding area. Drumcondra is pretty close to the city centre so you'll be able to spend the rest of the weekend sightseeing or experiencing the nightlife in Dublin. Enjoy.. |
