There doesn't seem to be a pub that claims to be the most remote, although quite a few claim to be the highest: Top of Coom, Co. Kerry at 1033ft, the Ponderosa in Co. Derry at 947ft and Johnny Foxes in the Wicklow Mountans at 910ft.

Orla's right about the pub on Cape Clear - other island pubs include O'Sullivan's on Bere Island, Tigh Ned and Tigh RuairĂ on Inisheer, a choice of 7 pubs on Arranmore, Co. Donegal, McCuaig's on Rathlin Island, Tory Island...

Elsewhere, some pretty remote pubs are:
The Fisherman's Inn, Ballybrittas, Co. Laois
Kinnane's pub, Upperchurch, Co. Tipperary
Moran's of Kilcolgan, Co. Galway
Linnane's, New Quay, Burren, Co. Clare
Christy McCarthy's in Coor, Co Clare

You might be interested in a book called The Story of the Irish Pub by Cian Molloy.

Depends were you're coming from.

The Taoiseach Brian Cowen's brother has a pub in this very remote palce called offaly. Most people in Ireland have never been there or want to go so it's very hard to find out where excatly in Ireland it is.
