Could you teach me some common phrases an Irish male might say? |
St. Patrick's Day is next week and I would like to impress (and troll) some people by claiming to be Irish :]]
I'd appreciate it if you could type it in the dialect/accent as well, like
"awareya" as opposed to "how are you" |

'story bud' for 'how are you'
'whats the craic' for what is going on, are you having fun
'just going for a few scoops' , as in 'yes, I do plan of having a few drinks later'
'fancy a ride' as in 'would you like to have sexual intercourse with me', usual answer from an Irish woman is 'feck off ye gobshite', ie, Not a chance
'you muppet' ie, your an idiot
actually, the link below, will give you a few more pointers. Enjoy, but be warned...its not quite PC |

Can depend on what you want to say to people..
"What's the story?" as in whats up or around here "story wha" and "deadly" as in cool are pretty common.
There are a few bogger terms, but even people here wouldn't know what you meant by some of them.
Also, No one says top of the morning here, no one. |

Odd way to celebrate the holiday.
Irish men don't exactly type the way they speak, but you can throw some "ye"s and "your man"s in there. Should do the trick.
Not sure if anyone outside some 50s movie ever said "top of the morning" anywhere. That's hollywood nonsense. |
