Only the well off. My mother is a care assistant in a hospital that takes care of the elderly and she got nothing from the good times. She had to pay for her own health care cover and got hardly any pay rises. Now that things have gone belly up they are taking that 1% pension levy from her wages and that of other public sector workers which comes to around €100 per fortnight. It's disgraceful that the working man must pay for the governments mistakes. |

Perhaps to some extent. We all benefit by the better roads and other improved services that money was put into, but some people benefited personally to a huge extent. And as we are seeing, the greed went to their heads. Unfortunately, now the Tiger is gone, it is those who did not benefit to any great extent who will suffer. The others are well-cushioned still. |

It benefited very few people, while its true employment was at nearly 100% it gave false messages to the majority of the workforce, who got themselves into serious debt, which now many of these same people will struggle to get out off, apparently there is a waiting list for MABS.
It benefited the already wealthy, and allowed for additional 'community development projects', such as the building and improvement of a childcare service in Ireland, but the majority of that cash came from the EU, met in part by the Irish exchequer. The roads were built with EU money too, (as part of the ERDF, European Regional Development fund) makes you ask...what exactly did they do with the exchequer earnings? Apart from give wasteful tax breaks to the already wealthy, and increase childcare benefits without any sort of means testing. Fecken eejits.
In short the answer is a big, resounding NO |

Sshhhh! It's Podge and Rodge

It benefited the builders, developers, bankers, members of the Fianna Fail party and the nouveau riche who went merrily off buying holiday homes in the Balkans.
We're delighted it's all gone belly up for them. |
