We did and we got a slap across the face from the Bishop as well.

We lasted about 3 hours. We rifled a bottle of Martini from the ma's drinks cabinet and drank it behind the cowshed.
We wanted to see if we could have it anytime, anywhere, any place......

Christine
Like an eejit I did, LOL. But at least I kept the pledge for about 4 years. :-)

Aisling xx
Yup in our catholic school it was kinda a must unless you wanted the teachers and nuns killing ya, so it was just easier to take it.
I gave it up though this year (16) ah well!
Its nothing big like, you just get this lil pin!!

My class took the pledge during school hours and I was out that day so I didn't take it. We weren't really given a choice, but nobody seemed bothered that I'd missed it.

Not that it matters, I had pretty much given up on religion at that stage anyway.

I did but i broke it well before I turned 18. ;O

I barely remember even taking it. We didn't really have a choice; it was just a given that we'd take it.
I think you made a good decision. It certainly beats taking it and then breaking it before the time is up (like most people do).

SF is scarred 2 speak out..:s

I think I did the most if did as right in the middle of it a woman fainted and some rushed there and everything went on while we helped her

Taught by nuns, we'd no choice! But I broke it, over and over and over again!

Midnight Sun
i did but i only kept it for about 2 years :-(

Due baby no.3 on the 4th of June
Yep I had that stupid little pin that only the lick arses wore too.....mine got lost very fast. I only took it as we were forced to. Never stuck to it and had alcohol when I was 14....lol

I am 27 now, happily married to my soulmate with 2 beautiful boys and a 3rd child on the way. Breaking the pledge did not turn me into a raving whoring alcoholic but it did make me realise that the Catholic church have alot to answer to in relation to pushing kids into things they dont understand.

I no longer consider myself a Catholic

=0)

dollymix (now geeky for a month)
I did, I'm still keeping it! But the pressure to drink, it's unbelievable! I bet I'll crack, I nearly cracked Christmas! Eeekkkk, But I'm trying my best to keep it, just to show I have the willpower to.
